GenSight gains certification from Stage-Gate Inc., the worldwide leader in product innovation best practices

GenSight gains prestigious 100% certification for all areas of new product development

London, UK & Philadelphia, PA – January 31, 2008 – GenSight, a provider of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software, has achieved ‘Stage-Gate® Ready’ certification. This prestigious certification tests innovation productivity tools across three areas of new product development (NPD) accreditation including Idea Management, Idea to Launch and Portfolio Management.

GenSight is only the fourth software vendor worldwide to receive the certification, which authenticates and guarantees the company’s ability to support best practice in the application of globally recognised Stage-Gate processes for NPD and project portfolio management.

To gain the certification, GenSight undertook extensive capabilities testing against some 200 innovation evaluation criteria. GenSight exceeded all criteria for Idea Management, Idea to Launch and Portfolio Management, receiving 100% certification. Each of these areas is integral to Project Portfolio Management (PPM) for new products.  

The Stage-Gate Process developed by Dr Robert Cooper, the world’s top innovation management scholar and co-founder of Stage-Gate Inc., has been the accepted best practice for new product development for the past 20 years. The structured method of progressive new product development and project deployment has been tested on thousands of new product launches and is recognised worldwide as the best approach to accelerate new products to market, successfully.
